Getting ready for life after COVID-19

If you’re reading this in early 2021, it may be hard to imagine that the COVID-19 pandemic will come to an end. But all signs are pointing toward us making a turn with this virus. Vaccines are rolling out at a rapid rate, and when enough of the population has been successfully inoculated, life will begin to return to normal.

However, life after COVID-19 may require a period of adjustment. We might not want to simply jump back into the way things were. Take the time to adjust and get used to life again after the pandemic by keeping the following in mind:

Appreciate people

One of the first things many of us plan on doing once the pandemic is over is spending time with our friends and family. In person.

The pandemic has shown many of us how important it truly is to have other people in our life. It’s great that we live in an age of technology and can connect with people online, but ultimately, this is no substitute for genuine human interaction.

This is a lesson we all need to remember after the pandemic is over: Appreciate the people we have and cherish the time we have with them. Never take it for granted.

Set a new routine

You may have lived your life a certain way before the pandemic, and it changed during the pandemic. Once the pandemic is over, it won’t be easy just to jump back into the way things were before. You should create a new routine to help you adjust to returning to work, school and other aspects of life that you have been doing virtually for more than a year now.

Mix things up

Yeah, we know, we just said to set a routine. But as important as it is to have some stability in life, you need to have some spontaneity as well. The pandemic made it difficult for us to make on-the-fly decisions to go somewhere or do something. When the pandemic is no longer a concern, take advantage of opportunities to do something exciting and unplanned!

Be prepared

It’s hard to think about right now, but we could face another viral pandemic in our lifetime. It will be important for us to look back on what we’ve gone through during the COVID-19 pandemic and to carry those lessons forward.

This is as important on a societal level as it is an individual level. As a society, we’ll need to do a better job educating the population on prevention and safety, so we can do a better job protecting ourselves and our neighbors should another virus rampage around the world.

Centerpoint Church is ready to walk with you on your faith journey

At Centerpoint, our community believes in purpose and passion, and we would love to walk with you on your journey in finding yours. We are currently going through a new sermon series titled “To Hell With Normal.” It’s all about redefining what we consider normal in life as we seek to make our lives more like the way Jesus would have them to be.

Do you want to grow in your faith or are you simply curious about who this Jesus guy is? You’re not alone. We encourage you to listen to our series online and welcome you to come to one of our Sunday morning services in Valrico, Florida.
