Feeling lost and confused

Have you heard the hymn "What a Friend We Have in Jesus"? It’s a song I grew up on. It gets stuck in my head like “Baby Shark” but has a much more soothing effect. (Sorry, if you are now humming “Baby Shark.” I know! It won’t die.)

There will be times in life that you feel lost and confused. Knowing that Jesus is for you, not against you, will anchor you throughout your life. No matter how distant He may feel, He never leaves you. When you feel lost and confused about anything, think of this hymn and take it to the Lord in prayer.

“What a Friend we have in Jesus,

All our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry

Everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit,

O what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry

Everything to God in prayer!”

What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” Verse 1

As Christ-followers, we are given access through Jesus to God in prayer. Rest in that for a moment. We have access to the Creator of the universe. When we come to God, we are seen through the redemptive work of Christ. We are declared and labeled righteous. No matter how confused or lost you feel, the reality is that you belong to God. The truth is that even if you are not a Christ-follower, you are loved by God. He is simply waiting for you to accept Him.

God is our refuge. The place to run to when things get hard. Next time you feel lost and confused, take your worry to Him

Join us at Centerpoint every Sunday morning as we explore what it means when we say we are loved by God. We welcome the hard questions; in fact, we encourage them. Whether you are a skeptic or a believer, we look forward to exploring the Bible with you.
