Why you should think about making God a part of your life in this busy, busy world

Life in 2020 feels a little slower than usual. And for good reason. Most of us cannot do what we normally do because of social distancing. However, with the promise of vaccines for all around the corner, it feels like the COVID-19 pandemic is coming to an end. Before we know it, we’ll be back to our normal daily routines.

This is great news. However, we think there should be some changes to what we consider to be normal once pace begins to pick back up in society.

Making God a part of your new normal

Life after COVID-19 will improve in a lot of ways. We’ll be able to go out in public without face masks again. Restaurants and bars will be open to serve at full capacity. However, let’s not pretend that normal life is all magical and carefree.

There have always been troubles and burdens before COVID-19, and there will be afterward. We don’t say this to be the pessimists in the room, but to point out that we need to strive to maintain positivity in the new normal world. And, we need to strive for a relationship with God.

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me — watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

  • Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

Thousands of years ago, people had trouble and burdens. So much so to the point that Jesus made this statement above. It is as applicable now as it ever was.

Jesus invites us to place our trust and hopes in Him, so that we no longer need to worry about the material world or what it has in store for us. He has a plan for something bigger, and He wants us to be a part of it.

Let’s lean into God as a part of our new normal lives. Let Him become part of your daily routine as you head back into the world when it’s safe to do so.

Centerpoint Church is ready to walk with you on your faith journey

At Centerpoint, our community believes in purpose and passion, and we would love to walk with you on your journey in finding yours. We are currently going through a new sermon series titled “To Hell With Normal.” It’s all about redefining what we consider normal in life as we seek to make our lives more like the way Jesus would have them to be.

Do you want to grow in your faith or are simply curious about who this Jesus guy is? You’re not alone. We encourage you to listen to our series online and welcome you to come to one of our Sunday morning services in Valrico, Florida.
